On Monday September 28, nine Leiden-Delft-Erasmus PhD students working in the educational domain had a first get together in 'DE NIEUWE ENERGIE' in Leiden to start the CEL PhD Network. Together with a number of their supervisors and staff of CEL and the Online Learning Lab from the Center for Innovation of Leiden University, a brainstorm was held. Discussion topics included which research or other topics to focus on, the added value of a LDE-CEL PhD Network over other PhD networks and how to practically get organised.
This is a great way to get people thinking about opportunities for colloboration and skill development. The network should be about sharing ideas, contacts and resources to come to better research of education.
The outcomes were presented and discussed by means of poster presentations and accumulated into a first idea for a symposium on methodology. In the coming months, the event will be organised by Tim and his colleagues for PhD students within the universities of Leiden, Delft and Erasmus Rotterdam and beyond.
Another activity that is being undertaken in the set up of a "Smoelenboek" so that PhD students can easily find one another based on their research topics, further interests and expertise.
Updates on the PhD Network will be shared via this website and the CEL Newsletter. If you are interested in the Network sign up for the newsletter or send an e-mail to info@educationandlearning.nl
