The Centre for Education and Learning is welcoming two new visiting researchers in September 2019.
Prof. Dr. Marco Kalz is full professor at the Heidelberg University of Education and the Open University of the Netherlands. His research interest lies on the use of open education, pervasive technologies and formative assessment to support self-directed lifelong learning. Marco is a fellow of the Interuniversity Center for Educational Sciences (ICO) and the Dutch research school on information and knowledge systems (SIKS). He is elected president of the European Association of Technology-Enhanced Learning (EA-TEL) (EATEL), director of the study program on E-Learning and Media Education, co-director of the Education for Sustainable Development Center and board member of the International Alliance to Advance Learning in the Digital Era. In his collaboration with CEL he will focus on developing reliable measurement instruments and interventions to increase learning success of learners in open learning environments.
Eyal Rabin is lecturer and statistical consultant at the Open University of Israel and PhD researcher at the Open University of The Netherlands. In his research he is focusing on the factors and predictors influencing intention-fulfilment and satisfaction of learners in open learning environments. In his studies he combines survey data with log- and process data to combine background variables with behavioral data. He will present results of his latest study on the differences of learning behavior between learners with different intention-levels during the 14th European Conference on Technology-Enhanced Learning which is organized from 16 – 19 September at TU Delft.
