Erasmus Education Research knowledge network launched

The interdisciplinary institute Erasmus Education Research (EER) of the Erasmus University Rotterdam has launched the website www.erasmuseducationresearch.com (in Dutch).

Network of Education Researchers and Professionals

This institute, under the leadership of dr. Guus Smeets is a network of education researchers and professionals at Erasmus University Rotterdam. EER arose from the research agenda Education Quality and Study Succes (Onderwijskwaliteit en Studiesucces). This research agenda focuses on educational research questions, often related to the implementation of the N=N programme.

Long-lasting expertise

Erasmus Education Research (EER) is an interdisciplinary institute which aims to encourage educational research and tries to enhance the long-lasting expertise of EUR in the research area of educational sciences. EUR values both innovation and sharing best practices in education. In addition EER aims to explore the empirical evaluation of the effects of such innovations. The strengthening of educational research contributes to knowledge of the education staff and hence the quality of education at EUR.

Research database

Besides answering research questions, EER provides a platform for the coordination of research projects initiated by faculties and the establishment of an interdisciplinary collaboration. A university-wide research database has been created for educational research in which, among others, longitudinal study progress data of the EUR student population are included. Additionally EER organizes activities for knowledge sharing purposes.
