Besides building a research community to explore new possibilities of digital teaching and learning, the documentation of best practices, training of higher education teachers, and the development of an active community for learning innovation is a core ambition of LDE-CEL.
At the heart of this development is the linking of innovative educators and research. Structuring teaching as an iterative learning process that makes use of research to validate and evaluate innovations in different contexts can be seen as the core loop of the learning engineering process.
As core skills to enable this process LDE-CEL has first focused on research methodology and developed a MOOC including a generic introduction into research approaches, basics of qualitative, quantitative and mixed-method research, as also the use of search, documentation and publication standards.
